Discover the island of Mljet
Escape the rush of Dubrovnik, and enjoy a relaxing day surrounded by beautiful nature. Visit one of the most beautiful islands of Croatia and the largest island of Dubrovnik’s archipelago, Mljet. Situated just south of Pelješac, Mljet is one of the nicest and unique national parks in Croatia that offers beautiful bays, coves and sandy beaches. You can enjoy crystal clear water both in sea and two lakes that are part of the national park.
From Dubrovnik we will drive down the coastline to peninsula Pelješac a region with centuries old tradition of oyster and mussel production where a break is followed in the town of Ston. From Ston we will drive to Prapratno where a car ferry takes us to Mljet – Sobra. From Sobra we will drive across the island to get to Polače, the entrance for the national park.
During our visit in the national park short boat ride will take you to islet Melita (St. Mary Island) where Benedictines have established a monastery in year 1151. After visiting the church at the small bridge – the connection between two lakes—you will have free time for swimming and lunch. During the season period cycling and canoeing are also available.
